Veteran free agent starter Cliff Lee has been cleared by doctors to begin working his way back to the hill, Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com reports on Twitter. Lee has already begun throwing and intends to pitch in 2016 so long as he can find the right opportunity.

We would then have the best rotation in baseball if it were 2006

I imagine we would be a last resort destination. Any pitcher with injury concerns will probably think twice before taking an Orioles physical and with teams like The Braves and Brewers who could benefit and not be adverse to risk I don't see why Lee would willingly choose Baltimore.

I would welcome it though, just don't think it's gonna happen.

I still find it weird that of the four starters who won 20 games in the same season -- Palmer, McNally, Cuellar, and Dobson -- Palmer has been the only one still living since 2010.

Mike stayed in the same hotel with us in Ft.Lauderdale in 2009. He and his family seemed so happy to be part of the team and he looked to be in fine health. Life is brief and precious.
